Jack enjoys researching his camping gear before he buys it.  He visits lots of different camping shops and also spends a lot of time on the internet looking for the best gear and the best prices.

• The best snack I have found when hiking is Beef Jerky.  It is nutritious, light and tastes good…. oh and it gives you energy.
• If you are camping in luxury and have a camper trailer why not throw in a hammock.  They are so comfy and don’t take up much room at all.
• Keeping things to a minimum is important so my new iphone bottle opener doubles as a phone cover and bottle opener – handy.

Some Hiking trips I have been thinking about:

• I would love to go to Norfolk Island and spend a week hiking around the island.  There is some great history there.  If I went with my family we would probably stay in some Norfolk Island accommodation which is more luxurious than the tent I would take if I went on my own.
• I also dream of doing a motor bike adventure around Tasmania.  There is a great Motorcycle Hire rental place in Tasmania so we wouldn’t even need to take our bike.  Tasmania has some great scenery and some great places to camp.
• I picked up a cheap surfboard so as soon as I can work out how to hike with a surfboard on my back I am going to hike up to the Sunshine Coast and check out the waves up there.
